Student Spotlight: Nick Nouri

Nick Nouri, a current student at Life Christian Academy, was willing to share his story on his journey to Life Center and enrolling at Life Christian Academy. Nick began attending Life Center youth group activities as a middle school student. Here he met Kenny and Lisa Muma, who came into his life at a very crucial time when Nick’s brother passed away in a motorcycle accident. Kenny is a father figure to Nick and the Muma’s have become his legal guardians and caregivers.

“The opportunity to enroll at LCA was an open door to try something new,” Nick shares, “I had troubles in other schools. It was quite easy to adapt to a new school because the teachers and staff were so welcoming.”

“I’m in my senior year now and I hope to go to Grand Canyon University or Northwest University.”  Videography, graphic design, and video editing are on his list to study when he gets to college. “My favorite part of LCA has been my growth in faith in God. My faith was shaky coming out of public school and grew more once I got here.” Taking a pause, he shares, LCA helped me get into better habits to be a better person.”

This is a great place that has set a great example for me. Most other schools do not

allow students to worship God. The teachers are not here for the pay, seriously, they are here for the students. It is a place where you can build your character and figure out whose you are in life. People are in your corner always and offer support.”

“Basketball has helped me deal with life situations I faced at a young age. Now I love being a leader and showing leadership to others to pass on what I learned when I was younger.”

“I did not understand how big the little things meant when I first got here, both the good and the bad. Things such as basketball, things at home, how you treat people, and how you respond to situations — they all matter. You grow, and you learn when you are a student here.

“Words can’t explain how much it means to receive scholarships from the Life Christian Foundation.”  Nick says, “I feel like I can hardly say thank you enough…it’s such a blessing.” Nick goes on to share that growing up without much money, he values the support he has received to stay enrolled. “People here are looking out for me. God opened a door for these donors to not only provide help for me but to help other kids too.”

“I know that everything happens for a reason, that is why I am here. You must know what is not in your control and be willing to give it to God. He will always be here for you.”
